Due to the possibility of heightened security the
ride may not go through Camp Pendleton but will travel the 5 Fwy for 8
miles to Oceanside (this is a legal bike route).

Irvine Transportation Center,
15215 Barranca Parkway, Irvine
CA. From Santa Ana Freeway (I-5): Exit Alton Parkway East (inland) 0.4 miles to Ada, Left 0.3 miles to end. Cross Barranca into Transportation Center Parking Lot.

Parking Instructions
Rider Check In opens 5:30 AM
and closes at 7:00 AM. All riders must be checked in and started by
7:00 AM.
A
photo ID and signed waiver will be required at check-in,
This is a pre-registered ride only! Registered riders must pick up packets at the
check in tables before starting the ride. You
can not register the day of the ride.
Ride
Start
The Ride
starts between 6:00AM and 7:00AM. There is no mass start. We recommend
that you start as early as possible to assure that you make it to the
train on time.
Riders starting after 7:00 will not be serviced by
the sag support and may find the rest stops closed when they get there.

The ride will finish at the
NE corner of Harbor and Ash in the parking lot of the San Diego County
Administration Building. For those wishing to meet a rider, the
parking lot can be
reached using the following directions: From the 5 Southbound,
take the Front Street exit turn right on Ash turn right into the parking
lot. For
those taking the train, the San Diego Train Station is approximately one
block south on Pacific Hwy to Broadway 1/2 block to 1050 Kettner Blvd.
Riders who purchased the with
train option will return by
Private Train! The train will depart San Diego approximately 4:30PM and will be available to board 15
minutes prior to departure. Plan to arrive at the San Diego Depot 1 hour prior to
departure to allow sufficient time to load your bike. The Train arrives in Irvine at approximately
6:25PM.

Sag vehicles will be
provided to aid riders having mechanical difficulties but please plan to be self-sufficient.

Description
If
this
years
Amtrak Century goes through Camp Pendleton. Bring ID.
The Ride is 100 miles of flat to rolling
terrain with a gentle crosswind or tailwind. This is not a race but keep it rolling and be
sure to see the scenery. This ride is a great first time century ride for someone who can
maintain 12 mph average for 8 hrs. The ride has 4 rest stops with lunch served in
Oceanside at Buccaneer Park.
Restrooms and/or Porta-Potties are available
at each rest stop.

Requirements
HELMETS ARE
MANDATORY
Waiver/release must be signed and you
must show your helmet at event registration check-in table. All roads will be open to
regular vehicle traffic. Cyclists are responsible for obeying all traffic laws.
There
is a limit of 700 riders who will return on the train.
There is a limit of 400 riders who will not return on the train.
All participants who are under
the age of 18 will be required to be accompanied by an adult per our
Liability Release Form

Baggage, Cooler & General Guidelines:
A SMALL tagged luggage bag weighing less than 20 lbs that will fit under a
train seat is permitted. Please do not combine or share larger bags.
A SMALL tagged cooler weighing less than 20 lbs with NO GLASS CONTAINERS
is also permitted. Please do not combine or share larger bags. If your
cooler does not have a locking lid/top, please tape closed.
Both items will be transported to San Diego by truck. Failure to comply
with the above will result in ITEMS REMAINING IN IRVINE.
Your bicycle will be individually blanket-wrapped and transported in 48’
Trailers. Any additional protection is your option. All water bottles must
be empty prior to loading on the trailers. Dump buckets are provided for
your convenience.
Wash stations and changing tents will be available at the finish or you
can wash in the Santa Fe Station restrooms.

Entry
Fee Includes
Included is train fare, return transportation for your
bicycle, and lunch in Oceanside and three additional food stops along the
route.
Your bike will be transported back
in trucks. Bikes will be individually blanket wrapped and transported.
Riders are not issued individual tickets for the train.
